HI guys! I have a HEMMT fuel tanker here given to me by a good friend of mine. The detail looks very basic to me. Does anyone know what to improve on this kit?
TIA!
Edit: Ok, I have the M-978 Fuel Tanker

PE is a good start. And Resin tires. Pro art offers a few resin detail sets as well.

The Kit is veryyyyyyyyy basic, and does require quite a lot of work and effort to be able to reproduce a decent kit.
There are quite a few threads on here if you try a search that will certainly help.
Good luck and i look forward to seeing your model progress
cheers

A VETERAN - Whether active duty or retired is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "Great Britain", for an amount of "up to and including my life". That is HONOUR, and there are way too many people who forget this

I know I know. Maybe that Eduard PE set would brighten this kit up. Will check previous threads

As mentioned above, replacing the kit tires goes a long way. The included ones are very basic and take away from the finished kit.

Hi Ralph
As Matt and Frank pointed out the tyres are awfull and cry out for resin replacements and Eduards PE add a lot to to kit especially the cab interior.
Depending on how far you want to go, you can add hydrailic brake lines etc, take a look at the HEMMT section on Prime Portal
http://www.primeportal.net/hemtt.htm There are some great photo references
