Before I answer the question, please advise why you need replacement track. What's wrong with the one in the box ?

I assume you want to replace the kit supplied tracks as they are individual link tracks? I'm sure the Tamiya M4 T48 tracks will fit; but I cannot comment on the AFV club...

If you can't face indy link tracks, then the Tamiya Sherman tracks have the right rubber chevron type links. Tamiya tracks usually need to be shortened by one link to get the right tension, so check before you glue.

Rob,
There is nothing wrong with the track in the box.....just looking at the indy track link makes me giddy... :-) :-) :-) ....I was hoping for magic track where I just need to glue instead of cutting them of the spruce and sanding it down....
Bradley and David, thanks for the suggestion of using Tamiya T48 track....but I am not sure if Tamiya sells this rubber track seperately....
I need to check with AFV club have these T48 track that will fit Dragon Sherman then...
Anyone already done that ?

Hey Mike,
If you read the back page of Tamiya instructions, they give you a list of the various sprues in the kit and the price in Yen for replacement.
I can't think of the site but there is a Japanese online store that can help you with getting the tracks.
Perhaps one of the other guys can think of the name.

I use the AFV Club T49 3 bar cleats on my Tamiya Sherman so I know they are the same size.

AFV Club makes a set of workable T48 indy links They snap together They even come with the extended end connectors aka duckbills However not enough duckbills for a full set

I use the AFV club track, I've never been able to just snap them together, I use a little canopy glue for a better fit. I also use RPHS track, but its awfully dificult to find. AFV also makes the T49 track (three bar cleat) in a "rubber band "configuration that will work, just make sure to buy the "79" link length, the "84" is for the longer hulled M4A4. Another option (one that I haven't used) is Accurate Armour track. Its resin and you use a hairdryer to melt it to fit around the drive and idler. I must admit that the thought of doing that scares me to death.

Tamiya sells replacement parts for all their kits. All you need is the kit # and the part#.

Yeah, I'm not exactly in love with them either. One suggestion which I have seen and tried is to do the following:
Glue the connectors onto one end only (both sides) of several links, and leave the glue to at least partially set. Then assemble the run of track by forcing the glued on end connectors slightly apart, slip them onto the pins on the next link, and squeeze them back together again.
Repeat this process until you have enough track for each side, and you should end up with mostly workable tracks. It helps if you set up a jig using a couple of scrap pieces of wood to hold the links while you attach the end connectors.
Remember, however, that Sherman tracks didn't have much (if any) sag.
I used this method on my own M4A1 and it worked reasonably successfully.
I know the individual link tracks can be a pain, which is why there's a lot to be said for Friulmodel tracks and also why I'm looking forward to making the DML Sherman III which I won in the raffle at our last club meeting - it has DS 100 flexible tracks, not individual links !
