I have finally been able to start a build that I have been looking forward to for months. I have Dragon's Maus and plan to put on some extras:
Reworking the mantlet to put on the 128mm Kanone 40 used on the Sturer Emil. The barrel is the piece from Armorscale. I am replacing the coaxial 75mm and putting on another barrel from Armorscale: 37mm Flak43 L/60.
I am going to fill the commander and loader hatches and rear vent on top of the turret and mount the turret from a Panzer IB with twin machineguns. It will be positioned towards the rear of the main turret.
From the wealth of tips I found in the forums here I think I will put on zimmerit and see what extras I have in the decals box.
I will post pictures as soon as I fill the hatches and vent on the turret and make the cuts to put on the Panzer IB turret.
Semper Fi!

Hang a TASCA Luchs from Davits on the rear.
The Luch might be too small to fit on the davits of that monster

Update- I have not had as much time to work on this beast as I had planned but it is coming along. I am getting ready to put the tracks on it and have just purchased some stowage gear for it. I am thinking I will put some panzer grenadiers riding on it. Perhaps an alternate scenario of German occupied Middle East or something.
I will be going with a dark yellow base over the zimmerit and dark brown camouflage streaks. Any suggestions on unit markings for this tank?
I want to upload some photos but can't seem to get this to work. Please help.

If it's going to be in the Middle East, why not use the Afrika Korps palm tree with swastika and the sPzAbt 501 Tiger markings?
Or maybe the Mammoth outline marking used by other SPzAbt units?
The Maus would have been a natural replacement to the Tiger I's & II's used by the German heavy tank battalions.
I'll be looking to see what you decide on.
Cheers

The plan was to phase out the Maus in favor of the E-100 anyway.. The Maus was two far machichly advanced just like the Ferdinand, Elefant, Pz Jag Tiger P.. They were just too hard to work on in the field.. The E-100 had a the same internal dimensions as the Tiger II [ King Tiger ].. It was to have a heaver Tranny and larger engine.. The E-100 was to use the rest of the Porsche turrets in production until Henschel got their turrets built, just like Tiger II with the Porsche turret then with the Henschel turret..
