I was looking around for a kit review on AFV Clubs offering of their M-48H with the sole purpose of finding out whether or not this kit is a re-boxed issue of the Academy kit which is a knock off of the old Tamiya kit. Unfortunately I couldn't find a peep. Does anyone know about this kit?
Thank You in Advance!!
Kurt

The M48H is a combination of an M48 turret and an M60 hull.
I don't recall Academy ever making one...do you mean the Academy M48A5K...South Korean modified M48A5.
Tamiya only produced the M48A3 and the M60A1/A3 and M60A1 RISE.
Did you try doing a Google search for "AFV Club M48H"? I found this review in about a millisecond:
http://home.comcast.net/~ampsct/afv_club_m48h.htm
It is also known as the M48A5H or CM-11 Brave Tiger.

Hey Jason,
The M48H is one of AFV Clubs early kits.
I haven't seen it listed anywhere for a number of years.
And I don't think it was a knock off of either the Tamiya or Academy kits.

Update: Hey Kurt, I just found this site with a review of the kit.
home.comcast.net/~ampsct/afv_club_m48h.ht
The tank was a hybrid of a M60 hull and a M48A5 turret amongst other things.
According to the review, the kit is a mixed bag of AFV and Academy sprues.
I hope it helps you out.
Cheers.

Yes and no. The AFV Club M48H consists of various kit parts of their own and Academy.
The turret and turret detail piece sprue are from the Academy M48A5. The upper and lower hull and detail piece sprue are from the Academy M60A1/A3.
There is the road wheels and suspension arm sprue from the AFV Club M88/M88A1. There is also a small .50 cal sprue from the M88 as well
The tracks are individual link from the AFV Club M88 (also boxed separately, but did not come with the M88A1).
There is a totally new sprue for turret and hull details made by AFV Club. Some of the items on this sprue are later style air cleaners, main gun, mantlet, smoke grenade launchers, sprockets and a spacer to allow the M48 turret to mate with the M60 hull.
