Hello all,
Please find below pics of the figures I'm sculpting. It' y first semi heavy sculpting. I've started with the dragon kit US 101st airborn at bastogne. They all represent french 1944 troops, and they will be include (soon I hope) in an Alsace vignette. The most heavily modified is the Goumier (with the coat and english helmet), it's the one also which give the most pain in building. The figs will need some final touches. A last figure will come, wearing Adrian helmet.
I was inspired by a french movy on colonial free french troops during ww2 called "indigènes". This movie will be in competition at the oscar ceremony in the foreign countries selection.
Comments are welcome, althought some of the fig are nearly completed.
Sorry for the quality of pictures, taken at night with not the best camera in the world...
Best,
Julien

Salut et merci Sébastien,
In fact apart from the légionnaire left thigh, I did'n sculpt anything with the meaning you're thiking of. I used two Dragon sets, 101st bastogne and the US support weapon team. I made a puzzle of the piece to obtain the poses I want, and then I apply the milli coat to make the djellabah, the bottom of the laying guy coat etc.. I didn't feel confident enough to start sculpting from scratch, and if I would have done so, I would have loosen a lot of details.
But this give me the taste to go a step beyond.
Best,
Julien

Julian ,
Wonderful job on these figures I am guessing they are for the Italian campagin winter 1943/44, great mix of gear, Don't forget the modern Kepi is taller than the WWII version so it will require some fileing down, Working on some Legion Estrangee North African converstions at present will attempt to post some pictures in the coming days,
All we need now is Blast models to release a WWII French Weapons Set
C'est tres Bien !!
A bientot ,
Jerry

Hi Jerry,
Sorry I forget to send you a PM.
Will try to do so this week end.
The figures will be located on the liberation of Alsace campaign.
I'm to scare to touch to these beautifull Hornet heads !!!
And I couldn't agree more with you on ww2 french weapons like the mas rifle, widely used in the first years of ww2 !
Best,
Julien
