I think you've done a great job. Have you tried the Airfix/Heller deuce and a half? If so, how does it compare to the PST kit?

Hi Robin,
Funnily I was wondering what the Airfix kit is like myself! I have been told that its a bit finer in detail - probably meaning the front grill area I suspect although cant confirm until I've seen it for myself!
The PST kit was ok to build, parts for 2 cabs and 3 different rear deck options. The wheel/axel assemblies were a bit tricky and some care is required for anyone that hasnt talked them before. I build under a bit of a time constraint and have been a bit guilty of taking liberties with kit instructions - hence I had to do a bit of a recovery on the axels.
Anyway, still not sure about the OD. As I mentioned its my first US vehicle (I'm a Brit and German builder mostly) so the OD is still a bit of a mystery. I spent plenty of time looking at some of the superb US models on here bit widely differing interpretations of OD. Most wartime pics show a lot of staining and fading particularly on tanks but little "chipping". This would seem to indicate that the paint has adhered well but has a very matt surface. For the record i found it difficult to get any fade into the colour ........
cheers
