hi people,
after an inactivity of 6months I've found myself back again for figurepainting. And this is my little project.
It will be an autumn setting. A lot of mud, fallen leaves and branches, u know...
It's a figure from warriors and the dog's from andrea. I've bought the wall on Euro and the fence is from Verlinden. I'm now working on the branches of a poisen Ivy to get some color on the wall.
Any comments are welcome. Also welcome's a suggestion for a title. I'm stuck with this one.
Ciao, Wesley

Hmmm,
I don't feel this one really well.
Why ? A guy with binoculars in this position and no action to support his pose is a bit strange.
Then you have a urban setting, road, fence, sidewalk , but you talk about mud, branches etc. This sounds a bit illogical.
No wonder you are stuck with a good name. The story of this vignette is not very clear i think.
Cheers

Hi Wezz
I note form the pics that the figure has turned to his right, almost as if something has caught his attention and he about to raise his binoculars. What might help the scene is to have the dog looking in the same direction??...
This will add some urgency to the scene and also make it a little comical?
Good luck (I like the wall and gate, very neat!)
Regards
Garth

I have to agree with Garth, turn the dog 90 deg clockwise and the whole story is much more clear.
Even if you turn the dog 90 deg you might try to repose the figure so that his left foot is behind the position his right is in now, so as to be looking not quite in the same direction as the dog.
As if he is in mid-turn and has not gotten turned completely to see something the dog already knew was there.
Then the title is something like "They say you're man's best friend.."
or " You could have warned me." , "Next time bark"

Thx for the replies.
@Garth & Mike: I've turned the dog and raised his head a bit. And indeed, this's much better now. But still, this is an early stage.
@ Claude: The fence you're seeing is one of a park. From where I live Temse, Sint-Niklaas, Lokeren, Beveren, such fences are placed behind a 'front garden' (I don't know the exact name). So you got the sidewalk, then a grassy area and then the wall and behind that the park. And it's that I've tried to make. I've even seen it Marche-les-dammes (I've spent a lot of time 'walking' there during my para boot-camp) The mud came then from the front area with the grass. There will be some tracks of a truck and so in it too... But like I said, it's still an early stage...
