Anyone know who makes 1/35 Canadian tankers circa 1969-70ish? I need some crew for my Canadian Centurion Mk 11.

Hi Bob,
Good luck!, you'll have to do some conversion work for sure. Hornet can supply the heads, but the bodiies... maybe Jason can get in on this one, he's done a few already.

There's a resin TC figure that comes with the kit, but I don't know how accurate it would be for use as a Canadian guy...

Bob,
No one makes Canadian crewman figures for any modern era AFV.
The combat uniforms back in the 1969/1970 were same combats that the CADPAT replaced...single colour olive green combat pants and combat shirt.
You should have a look at the Warriors Vietnam Era AFV Crew 35554 or the Ultracast Commonwealth Tank Crew, North Africa 1941-43 or the Firestorm Models Australian Tank Commander Vietnam FST062.
These figures are great for a conversion base if you want crew figures that are out of the turret no higher that mid-chest level.
You will have to modify the shirt chest pockets and build headsets for them. A good starting point for headsets are either aftermarket German WWII headsets...Royal Model makes a set or use the Ultracast British/Commonwealth head sets and modify the headsets into the Gentex style headsets...the boom mikes can be found in the Royal Model US Microphones - new type (photoetch) RM019 set. You will have to add the wiring, drop cords, and pressel switches.
I used the Ultracast figures for my early Leopard C1 and they worked quite well.
If you were modelling a Centurion in around 1967 the WWII Pixie suits were still in use...I used the Ultracast figures for my Mk.11LR circa 1967 and they are perfect.
I would suggest looking on eBay for photos of Canadian combat uniforms unless you have your own references or take a trip to a surplus store.
You really should come out to one of our meetings...it is a great place to answer all your questions first hand.
