I've done a whole bunch of figures with oils and am not too happy with the results. I was wondering, which acryilic paint looks the best in terms of a flesh color? I have access to Tamiya, Poly Scale, Humbrol, and Model Masters. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jeff, unfortunately I cannot help you with any of these paints. From the ones you listed I only use Tamiya and that's usually for painting armor. If you really want to get some good acrylic flesh tones take a look at the Vallejo paints. These paints are incredible! You can even get a Faces/Flesh Tones Pack for arund $40 and believe me you will have more than enough colors to come up with all kinds of flesh tones. Take a look at this link for some of the packs that Michigan Toy Soldier Co. offers.

Hmm, that looks like a possibility, I think I might order them. Looks like the flesh pack has everything I would need and more!!! Thanks for the help.

I think once you try Vallejo paints you won't want to use any other acrylics.

That good, huh? I know I just switched from Model Master enamels to Tamiya acrylics (MM had uneven mixture, pain to clean in my airbrush) and was pretty impressed by Tamiya, but anything to make the model look better. I'll be placing my order the beginning of next week. Thanks for your advice and product rec.

I followed some tips on the internet to finish my figure (see rivrt review). I used Vallejo flesh tones followed by a wash of oils. Worked ok for me. The best paint in the world....Vallejo..
