No, is the short and sweet answer. I don't know why as the 76 versions of the Sherman had no turret basket. The only suggestion I have uis to get hold of Toadman's CD on the M4A1 and have a go at scratrchbuilding. That's what I'm doing but no pics yet. John Eary is building an interior for his M4A3E8 over on tracklink and it is definitely worth checking out

Thanks Pat, I have looked at the track-link forum, good stuff. I'm in no rush at this point, I still have two other projects to finish up before starting this one. I think, CMK is coming out with new interiors for the DML Shermans... We will see what comes out in the next few months. Thanks again.

Not to take anything from Pat, but there are plenty of parts from the 75mm kits that could be used on a 76mm gunned tank.
In fact, CMK's kit 3072, M4A1 Sherman driver's set, gives about 90 percent of what is need for the hull interrior. The big difference is in the ammo stowage and arrangement of some of the other components to accomodate it.
I agree that the turret kit (CMK 3073) would not provide nearly as much, but some of the components are there. Doing a T-23 (76mm) turret interior would be a waste of most of the CMK set for a 75mm. This is a case where it helps to have a good spare-parts box and some scratchbuilding skills.
Paul: Drop me a note if you need some help with this one.

Not to take anything from Pat,
No worries Bob, I think to spend £18/$35 on a CMK turret set or even a hull interior for an M4A1 75mm and try to convert it to an M4A1/76mm is a bit expensive when you consider how much plastic card, tubes and shapes the same money can get you
Here is the interior I "McIvered up" for my Italeri M4A1. It's not highly accurate and the parts are rough but for what can be see through the hatches it'll do for me
Now that I have the Tioadman CD I plan on doing a better interior for the Dragon M4A1/76 too. It needs one especially if you use the split loader's hatch.

Hi Pat
I like your work on the Italeri Sherman. I have one a lot like it but I gave up and glued the hatches shut. References were pretty sparse then. Much better now.
Bob, you may be too optimistic about the use of dry stowage parts in a 76mm tank. I'd say 25% carry over. But if you have that 25%, you'd be crazy not to use it.
I used Verlinden parts to supplement my own because the relevant parts are well done, and the set is pretty reasonable.
BTW, I can't find anything about CMK doing 76mm interiors on the web. Anything to it? I'd buy one.
Regards, John

Nice job!
The Italeri kit gives a nice starting point with a remidial gun breech and guard. The driver position can be cannibalized from an Academy M12, M10 or Achilles kit (or others, with work ... and don't forget aftermarket).

John: You may be right. I forgot about the deck under the fighting compartment in the wet-stowage tanks, so you have me there. But don't forget the sponson details. The CMK kit's aux. motor and other parts can still be used, so I'll drop to say maybe 50% for the CMK lower hull kit.

Fair enough, Bob!
The CMK set does have some features that other sets don't. They give two styles of drivers seat base and the stowage rack on top of the trans would be great in a late model Sherman. I don't think I've seen the cantalever seat base or that stowage rack in an early M4. Might be a rebuild feature. Have to look into that.
