Thanks for this. I really want to wait for the AFV but I guess I will get this one anyway.

Thanks Joe. I've had mine on pre-order from GM since it was first announced. Really looking forward to it's release.

Thanks for the info. Might actually have time to finish some of the stash before this comes out.

Wow seems like alot of Strykers are being launched around that time.

Be interested to see how this matches up against AFV Club's release.

Our LHS has this already...got the second to the last one i stock.

Nice kit, but considerably more expensive than most of their armor lineup. What annoyed me is the cal .50 has sink marks on both sides...

Randy:

Are the brush guards covering the rear shocks solid or perforated? Is the thermal imaging camera still mounted in the front of the driver?

I see that it has PE. The PE looks good.

Are the packs nice, or lumpy?

The leak of the interior, even a simple one like the Italei LAV, is the bad part

Maybe as for the AAVP-7, the resin interior set must be very expensive. ut I hope not!

Bye,

Hey Bob,

Sorry, I'm still at work and unable to answer your questions...I will look over that kit when I get home and let you know in a few hours.

Oh, the stowage seem to be nicely molded. Seems that their owners are packed up for a looong weeked, though. :-)

Okay, am home now and have the kit parts on my lap...

I'm not familiar with the details of the Stryker, so my answers are at best, a guess.

If the "brush guards covering the rear shocks" are parts B79, B80, B82 and B83. They are solid pieces with sink marks on one end of each part. I looked at what few pics I have and I'm sure I'm looking at the right place (IIRC the image I have here is from a post you had sometime ago).

The "thermal imaging camera...in front of the driver" doesn't seem to be there.

It would be probably best of you would post pictures of the items you are concerned about, so I can better ID them and give a more concise report.

Hope this helps.

Hey Rob, I just looked at the pics
The DVE Drivers Visual Enhancer is mounted in front of the driver on this kit,
The old "Original Style" Step rings are on each wheel,
The Strut Guards are the old style also.
I looked across the sprues and only saw a .50 cal, I guess they did not think about how each platoon of ICV's have 2 .50 cal Strykers and 2 MK19 Strykers.

However it looks like, with conversion kits, you could make 1 of 5 variants.
The ICV, ESV, CV, RV, and FSV. The way they cut the roof where the VC and Squad Leaders ride it would not be hard to mold diffrent ones and put them in to elemintate the hatch hole for the Squad Leader.

It looks like the most work then would be on the strut guards. If Eduard does a kit these would be great to have since making all those perforated holes will be a pain - in four strut guards. The step rings were used on all wheels up until about a year ago, so they are good. It would have been nice for the step rings to have been in PE too since they are quite thin and easily damaged in real life, but that can be worked out too.

Like most things, it seems like there will be reasons to have kits from either manufacturer, depending on what you are looking for.

Are there any 'net sources (photos, text) as to the production changes/details of the Stryker?

Not that I know of. There has only been some minor cosmetic changes to the vehicles since they were first produced. The rest of the changes are internal.

I'm looking forward to Trumpeter, AFV Club, and Dragon all shipping their Strykers--Trumpeter's looks pretty good, but AFV Club's preview images indicate that they will give Trumpeter a run for their money. In the end, we'll all come out ahead--competition works in our favor!

I'll try to resist my urge to buy one immediately so that I can compare and contrast the various offerings.

Im with Lucas on this one. I have enough things in the stash to build to keep me busy long enough to research which is the best kit. I will admit, I am tempted to pre-order this one. But I am going to wait and see how you guys like yours and wait for all subjects to be released.
