Hi ,
i m looking for a Railway transport car for a Tiger in 1 35. Dragon has a 'schwerer plattformwagen Ssy 4 axes' but their load was only up to 50 ton, so i need the Ssym 6 axes till 80 ton... cos Tigers weight was about 56 ton.
i saw somewhere a build of a Ssym on a japanese site, couldnt read a word of it. It looked a resin model.
Does anybody know of a manufacturer who has those 6 axed types Ssym

I believe that Tank Work Shop or Tiger Model makes one.

Hi
I know for sure, that the company IRONSIDE manufactured this Tiger railcar. But to be honest, its from very poor quality, not really recommended. I´ve been very lucky as I selled this item on ebay for about 80€. And there was no resin or pe included
I would recommend, if possible to scratch this one, use the Dragon one as a base
regards Nico

But reading this I guess I'm wrong, would be interested to hear where you get one from.

You can get one from a Japanese manufacturer called "Atelier Infinite" it will be a resin and etched kit, apparently the quality is excellent, but then so is the price too.....
They make a range of rail platform wagons for AFV's and even an armoured loco for a full BP42 Armoured train as well as some bits to update Dragon's Maus and E100 kits by means of replacement turrets and even fully working suspension!
You should be able to find a link to them vis PMMS.

scratchbuild? it was also much longer that 6 axed one! Not an option as ive never did that before.
Ironside? Will be hard to find.
I ll look for that japanese manufacturer or TWS.
Last option: put on panther or Pz IV. But my idea is tiger with transport tracks and their battle tracks rolled up in front and wheels stacked up. even if you would cheat the 4 axed is too small to put all that on it...
but thanks guys

Tank Workshop make one. It can be got for £40 from Lou Stener in UK, he normally ships for free in UK but not sure about to Belgium, I can recommend him very highly for service.
And you definately need the 3 axle bogies.

Before buying, check the quality from someone who's built these. I have heard there can be quality problems with at least one of these kits.

I have built the ironside 2 axel flatcar (the one for the pz IV) and besides more cleanup than usual - they do look the part.
The wooden deck was very nicely done, and thats whats most visible on the finished piece.

Hi there.
I built the 6-axle Ironside kit some years ago, when the railway cars on the market were not so many.
There is no doubt that the quality of the Dragon models is not comparable.
I think that a good solution is a conversion of the Dragon Ssym (4-axle) to the 6-axle version.
Bye, Sante
