Hi all
Heres my entry for this month ,Dragons Karl "Ziu"
Its been on the bench for ages,I'm trying to clear a backlog of half builds.
Eduard PE set,and Friulis were used, the texture on the gun block was done with a dental burr in my como drill, the junction box and wirring was cut and sanded away and replaced with plastic card and fuse wire.
The loading tray and sight were replaced with ones from the Trumpeter kit, which are far better.
Lots of rivets and bolts were added which were missing
The deck is too high(about 3mm) but I had allready fitted it by time I had decent referance books ,DOH
Finished with Xtracolor enamels.
The Trumpeter early is in the paint shop with its rail transporter, and Loki
is still in the box ,waiting..........
Hope you like
Andy

Nice looking build Andy. I like the camo scheme you have going there.
I still need to get back to mine. Its got baseic painting done and I just
kinda lost interest in it. It sits lonely on another table, waiting..
Good luck with the AMoM.

Great salvage operation Andy....
Considering the amount of dedicated work, needed to bring this kit to life.
I really like te texturing , & camouflage scheme.

Andy,
Really good looking model. I love the fuse wire touch. Must have taken a lot of work.
Good luck in the competition.

excellent work Andy! I wonder, do all of us German armor builders have one of these sitting around for ages? :-) Ive had mine in the works for over a year now. Question, the p/e plates on the gun cradle ,that add the missing rivets...is that scratch made or from a set? I have all the Eduards set, and was too lazy to add the rivets one at a time lol

Thanks for the comments guys
Tim,as far as I can remember, the pe strips came with the kit ,it was that long ago when I started it I'll try and find the instruction sheet

The Dragon kits do come with some basic PE, the strips were one of those items. I built the "Loki" version and the PE are universal to all the kits.

That's pretty sweet - nice touches, love the scratch wiring!
Couple of quick questions - being "new" to the site - what is this contest I see some guys referring to? And, just out of curiosity - how much dinero does that thing set you back? It is huge!

Thanks Dieselrocket
Have a look at the Dragon AMoM post pinned at the top of this section, that will explain all,as for the kit ,the Dragon kits can be picked up for around $50,but the Trumperter is the better model, more accurate and better detail, can be had for about $70 and you get the rail carrier with that aswell.
Trumpeter have released a newer version with two chassis (early and production,no railcarriers) but I don't know how much these cost stateside.
