This is my completed Trumpeter SA-2 on launcher with Eduard details, and my 1st submission to the Big A!.

This was my 1st venture into the realm of armor-ish subjects, and represents my 1st attempt at post shading, oil wash, drybrushing, paint chipping, diorama base, and other armor techniques.

Launcher was pre-shaded with brown, and painted overall desert yellow with progressively lightened highlight shades. The launcher turned out more brown than I had hoped, but I was pleased with the end result for the most part.

Missile was painted light gray, and post shaded with neutral gray around the edges of the fins (it looks more overstated in the pics than in real life).

Base was made with Sculptamold overlaid with model railroad ballast mixed with diluted white glue -some foam core poster board was used for the concrete pad.

This was a good kit of a subject near and dear to me, having seen a couple in action in the skies over Iraq!

Cheers!

Very Nice work. What are you going to do next, the SA-6?

It's on the list! Next in the stash however is a selection of modern AAA - the Flakpanzer Gepard, the M163 Vulcan, and the ZSU-23-4.
