Hi All
I have just got my three Ultracast Brit tankers for my Centaur, outstanding molding some of the best I've seen
I 'm going to model a Royal Marines Armoured Support Group vehicle,
I take it the crew would have worn the RM green beret, and standard BD,but what sleeve patches would have been worn?
Sorry about silly questions but I normally do German stuff
Cheers Chaps
Andy

Andy, I have a feeling that the tank crews wore the navy blue beret as they weren't commando qualified from what I've read. I would imagine that they wore the combined ops flash with a standard RM shoulder title as opposed to the commando flash. I've read a link on the BBC's peoples war of an RMASG chap who didn't become commando qualified until after the war. Hope thats of some help.

The crews would have worn the Black Beret of the RAC because the drivers and many of the crews were drwn from the RAC at the last minute. The Centaurs were not originally supposed to go ashore, therefore, drivers were sourced from the army. Hope this helps.
