G'day fellas,
Just about finished my M1, and am keen to
use Mig Powders for the first time - just curious - what's a good ratio of powder to thinner that gives the tank a good dusty look, without dusrupting too much of the detail with camouflage and decals, etc?
Thanks fellas
Stew

A very good question...and one hard to answer as the main limitation will center around your AB's nozzle/capacity more than anything else. The Mig pigments only suspend in whatever medium you use, whether it be water, alcohol, thinner, etc. so the ratio needs to be thin enough that you can get it to flow through your AB without clogging and still deliver a thin enough coat for what you want. The only real way to answer it is to practice on something else until you get it tuned the way you want and then apply it your model.

A quick question about the mix and mig powders - if you use water as the solvent will the powders be very 'fragile' on the model?? or would the use of white spirit or thinners be better to give a more hard wearing coat?
cheers.
