Just posted, the 2007 release list of a company which tends not to get a very high-profile in the News Section - the Russian manufacturer Zvezda. Once again, wiith these smaller companies, the keynote is the unusual. The full story can be seen:

Two very interesting figure subjects. They will probably be value for money taking the number of figures in each set into account. It will be interesting to see if the quality has gone up for Zvezdas figures. Some of the recent releases have not been up to the DML or Tamiya standards.

Hi,
The mountain troops, both german and russian, look terrific.
Their poses are excellent, very dynamic.
As far as details are concerned, I found Zvezda, with the Russian maxims mg pairs and the russian snipers did a really nice job for an unbeatable price (6€ in France !). The castnig may not be like GEN2, for sure, but the overall poses are quite original.
The problem with zvezda is their kits are good 1 time out of 2. For example their german mortar team and halftrack crew were released in the same time that the maxim team. The later was good, the firsts awfull.. Their german snipers were released nearly in the same time that russian snipers. Russian are excellent, german are deformed. Is there a kind of revenge of Barbarosa invasion on behalf of Zvezda ?
Anyway, it's possible the russian moutain troops will be ok unlike the gebirsjager But I still plan to buy them both !
Best,
Julien

The BA-10 looks interesting, will look forward to seeing how that stacks up quality wise.
