I am confused and a little frustrated. Maybe some of the fine board members here can clarify the Dragon/DML 10th Anniversary promotion for me. I purchased 3 Dragon "10th Anniversary" model kits tonight under the impression these 3 kits had the special "inserts" that are part of the promotion as I understand it. All three kits have the Dragon/DML 10th Anniversary emblem on the front of the box but only one of them was packaged consistently with the promotion.

The first kit was the DML/Dragon 10th Ann. Hornisse which has the 10th Ann. promotion introduction in it. The "Introduction" to the 10th Ann. promotion stated that there will be 12 releases with color calendar pages featuring Ron Volstads fine art work. This kit also had two brass 88mm rounds and color instructions.

I purchased the 2nd DML/Dragon 10th Ann. item which is a "Panzer Riders" (Lorainne 1944) figure set. In this set was the January "calander page" with stand. According to the introduction in the Hornisse kit, this is the first one in the series of 12 since it has the 1st (January) calender page in it. This set also featured an extra weapons sprue and color instructions.

I purchased the 3rd 10th Ann. release which is the 60cm Morser Karl. The only thing in this is one aluminum round. No calender page and no color instructions. Is it to be assumed that even though the box features the 10th Anniversary graphics that it is not part of the 12 kit special release?

I am wondering if every release they do this year will feature the "10th Anniversary" logo on the box but only some will have the calender pages, color instructions, etc. Does anyone know specifis about this program?

I am only interested in the specific kits that feature the calender inserts and color instructions and am hoping someone has some clear information. Thanks. #:-)

Well, its simple the Karl is part of the celebration for the opening of the dragon USA offices and is not part of the 10th anniversary promotion but the logo is probably going to be on everything DML does for the next several years!!!! Now why can't they just keep it simple like Tamiya did at 35 years one realy big kit to celebrate!!! stug

You can disregard now. After some additional research, I have drawn the following conclusion:

*The "10th Anniversary" logo will be widely used and does not necessarily represent any special kit content.

*The calendar pages are included in figure sets only. I have drawn that conclusion after reviewing the Dragon/DML website.

My only question now is, What the hell am I going to do with the Morser Karl?

A friendly word of advice on those instructions for the Nashorn. They are all messed up. Things shown on backwards (C4) and upside-down (D37). Check around for any correction notes listed on this and other web sites to get the corrections before starting. It is a very nice kit but Dragon sure could have done better on these instructions. Now the new Panther kits' instructions didn't have any of these mistakes. Like to see them go back to the old style myself. We all know the color schemes I would think.

Take care, sgirty
