Have you ever got one of those older, not so well designed/detailed kits of a more obscure subject and th emore you look at it and hold it and dry-fit the pieces....the more you want to build the damn thing!!???

Well, I'm in the middle of that with my 1/35 Heller AMX-13 with theSS-11 ATGMS. But, as usual with this kind of thing...references are few and far between for someone with advanced AMS like me... :-)
So I need some help...please riddle me this:

1. It looks like this mod had no coax installed. I can't get a good look in the photos I have, but it looks like the launcher fits right in front of the coax muzzle. True?

2. I have seen a few pics of one with what looks like some sort of guidance box on the rear turret deck, but other "in action" photos don't show it. Ideas? A later modification?

3. Of course..Heller= the tracks SUCK!!! I have heard the Acc. Armor resin tracks are almost as bad. So...and ideas for updated tracks for my little beast? I think I would be satisifed with any track that even looks close and will fit th esprocket, road wheels....any ideas here?

4. Any good photos of the SS-11 launcher and detailed pictures of the missiles would be very welcom. I have run a dozen different searches on the web and hit all the well-known walkaround sights and have only come up with about a dozen quality photos. Please help!!!

Thanks in advance everyone!!!

Have you been here?

I'm guessing that the box on the rear of the turret is a guidance system for the SS11B.

Don't forget that the hull assembly sucks.

The kit tracks look ok to me AFTER the weathering process. As suggested above, chars-francais seems to be the best bet for photos. The kit turned into a nice little kit after all. I used the plastic rockets. I think the metal ones are too heavy for the framework.
