I was reading through a few magazines and came across the accurate armour ad and decided to browse through their web site. They had these books called Achtung Panzer and for the heck of it, I decided to purchase some of them: No. 2 Panzerkampfwagen III; No. 4 Panther, Jagdpanther & Brummbar; and No. 6 Panzerkampfwagen Tiger.
I have not really gotten into any detailing yet, but these books are simply amazing with how much information and photographs they contain. The detail gets into very minute levels - the style of welded fender bolts nuts to higher level color photographs. Although most of the text is in Japanese, they have english subtitles for all photographs and numbered legends connected to the photos.
These are the first ones that I have purchased that I feel are truly beautiful books in both depth of information and overall quality (maybe a few Jentz books were at the same level). I should warn you, they are a little on the expensive side but worth it.
I purchased them online and they arrived from Accurate Armour within one week - what a nice surprise. I highly recomend both Accurate Armour and these books.
P.S. The photo on the back cover of No. 6 shows a b&w photo of a WWII German officer bulding a detailed Tiger Tank from scratch in front of some Russian children - pretty cool stuff.

Voyager,
The #3 Pzk.IV, and #5 Stug. books are excellant also. And in the same format as Achtung Panzer, have you seen any of the Panzerfile books yet ? They are the ultimate "wish" books of the German, WWII, AFV modeller. Expensive though !

GR8Voyager,
Yes, these "Auchtung Panzer" serries are good for their money. In fact, well worth the bucks. If you like the lil panzers, get #7 as it has some great information on the PzKpfz I and PzKpfz II.
now, I just wish they would do the same for T-34's, KV's and the beloved IS's.

Yes this website is definately worth a good look. However it is in the UK, and may cost a pretty penny for you to export stuff to the US.

The resin models are complete and very detailed.
I can recommend them thoroughly. Even though the kits are rather expensive.

I just have to add my okily dokily to the rest of the guys here....I have all (except for #1 because they redid it as # 3)Expensive???? no way just take the one on the stugs #5 I think...If you are like me ,I have an A,B,C/D,an F ,F8,and two Gs to do ...Not forgetting 2 Stug IVs I have to build ....Devide the price by the number of kits you can build with one reference ...These books are dirt cheap!! #7 is excellent you can build lots of little ones with this book ..all the way up thru the Marder series (on panzerII base of course) Also I can really recommend the Panzers in the Saumur series too if you can find them..You get lots of pictures inside and out of vehicles at this Museum...The full interior of the Panther A is worth the price of the book by its self.Highly recommended!!

Jeff,
Actually this book's English is sufficient enough to let you get the most important parts. I will say by far this is one of the best Tiger book around.
As I had mentioned in my email to you I will get a couple pagies to you so you can know what I am talking about.

Hi
The Achtung Panzer books are fantastic!
I have the PzIII, PzIV, Stug and Tiger ones.
Too bad there's not an equivalent for the Sherman!! Or any Allied tanks!
I got most in trade, but I ordered from HobbyLink Japan, and the price was quite reasonable. For those of you in North America, or more precisely, outside of Europe, I think HLJ is the best source.
Cheers
Andy
