There are models of the SA-2 missle on a launcher unit, and of course the missle being transported on a tractor-trailer truck. Question is, how do they transport the launch base itself? Its legs can be folded in, but how do they put it on a vehicle and move it (and take it back off later)?

With a set of these:

Two separate wheel axles, somewhat similar to the axles used for
the German 88 mm AA-gun.
Don't know how the actual lifting/lowering was done, I would guess that
the axles were rolled into position straddling the ends of the launcher and then the launcher was winched upwards and locked in place.

As best I recall, the NVA hauled them on bicycles....just like everything else.

I guess that explains the holes and the 4 shock absorber looking things on the opposing ends of the non-folding launcher legs. Been wondering what those were for!
