Hi all...I've a simple question.
I've a caliber 35 conversion for open cab Humvee, can I use this to realize an M-1113?!(up to now I've humvee without hard top and the roof modified with mig kit like m1114 style)In my photos m-1113 is different from conversion that I have but there the possibility that m1113 can use the open cab kit.....have you any photos of this?
Best regards
Ciro
Ps
Hey Gary hope you're fine

It's early enough in the morning for me, and coffee hasn't kicked in, but I'm going to take a whack at this.
Was bugging our maintenance team one day on what makes their M1113 an M1113, and here's what I got for a response:
Upgraded transmission, engine, and suspension. Retains the old style single piece hood, and uses all other components of the standard M998. Intended to carry the heavier loads of things like the super tool kit (roll up sides, etc).
So, I believe you can. If you were going for an M1113, you will want the stance to sit higher, due to the increased suspension capability. If you are redoing the interior, you will want to modify how the shifter looks (different package, no photos available). Newer transmission has a park and an overdrive.
Now, I fully expect someone else to contradict me, which is just fine at this point of the morning. Or I'll read it myself and do it for me.

It was basically a HMMWV manufactured using the heavy duty suspension already found on early HMMWVs like the the ambulance, S250 shelter carrier and M1097 105mm artillery prime mover (among others).
It gives the truck a 2½ ton load carrying capacity, but it cubes out before it reaches it max weight. The interior of the truck has been updated from the 80s and 90s version with upgrades.
Here's some shots of the M1123.

If you really want to get technical about it. The transmission in the newer Humvee is a General Motors 4L80-E electronic overdrive transmission. The transmission in the Tamiya and Academy kits is a General MOtors TH400. I had contemplated scratching a new 4L80E back when the HUmmer campaign was going on and addding all the undercarriage details like brake lines, wiring harnesses, etc, but to be honest, its just not worth the time it takes as you dont see any of it once the model is completed. Now, IM going to go have my coffee too! :-)
