Both of these photos are from Gavin Mortimer's book about the SAS in WW2 "Stirling's Men" which is a great read.
First image is dated August 1944 Auxerre. the discolouration on the armour looks like the welds where the supports have been added which means the armour has just been added and is unpainted- not a priority in August 1944 I suppose but would it be bare metal or what-could be anything?
Second image is dated May 1945 and look at the uniforms Full leather Jackets, Luftwaffe Flying Jackets and high boots. The book mentions that in 1945 The SAS started wearing black berets so as not to draw too much attention to themselves-fat chance- any guesses or definite info on the colour of the berets in the photo? Also what kind of boots is the trooper in the jeep wearing?
If I model the 1945 jeep I think Ill use this Takahishi figure
Any thoughts
