Found this earlier today over at Cybermodeler, it the 1/35 M1126 Stryker. The review is on it's construction.

Look like it's a fine model. Don't know about the accuracy but seems to be a good project for a sunday morning modeller like myself.

I'm looking forward to getting one and seeing it up close. The raw plastic photos show sharp detail, but for some reason the painted parts (weapons station) appear soft and indistinct. Can't be that much paint thickness, can it?
Any rate - I'm looking forward to all of the Stryker kits due to be released.

I do not like the detail on the gun mount. I saw pics of the AFV club version and it's much better detail overall as well and more accurate. I am going to try and wait for the AFV club version.

Yea I'm probably going to wait until the AFV Club version comes out, and if Dragon follows through with theirs even better.

I guess the price will be a big factor to decide which one to choose....personally, I´m looking forward to get it in my hands, any modern release it´s much welcome in modelling world crowded with WWII kits
Wanna see the AFV Club release though, I guess it will be even better than this one.
Cheers

Looks like a nice kit, although I see what Charles is talking about regarding the .50 cal mount. I'm salivating and itching to get my grubby little hands on a Stryker, but I'm going to force myself to hold off until I see a couple of reviews of the Trumpeter and AFC Club offerings to see which one will land on my bench.

HI
As I understand it, one of the companies is going to do a few variants. However I plan to build one as a CDN LAV III, IRISH, NZ or one of the other countries. (at least I assume they have the 8x8) Understand that a lot cannot be built from the box but that is why we have styrrene

Overall, it looks like a Stryker. I think there is a very nice base model here. However, it has its shortcomings. Here is my take:
I agree the RWS is not a strong point. Almost all the detail seems soft. The ammo box is missing the circular raised detail on the middle of the front portion of it. The smoke grenade tubes are not very convincing. The lenses are missing the rain/sun shields. There does not appear to be any spent shell chute. From what I saw of the AFV Club offering it seems crisper, but I don't recall it having the spent shell chute either. But it was not a complete build so who knows... It does not appear either kit will have the front or rear spent shell bags that attach to the RWS.
There are no tie downs on the kit anywhere. I suppose Trumpeter did not think they could do it with the molding technology, but somehow AFV Club pulled it off. They have them in their preview photos, but I am not sure they are everywhere they need to be on their kit. The Stryker is loaded with these tiny, almost half looped/oval, welded on tiedowns up and down the vehicle, on top and on the side. They might be overscale a tad in the AFV Club kit, but I would rather have them that way than none at all. The review notes that the jerrycans come with PE straps to tie them down, but I do not know what the straps connect to. There is nothing for them to connect/tie down to. In reality, what the straps go through are footman loops that are in addition to the tiedown loops. These footman loops are attached to the many raised bolts seen all over the vehicle. In the case of the jerrycans the straps go up to the rear portion of the roof and loop through a footman loop there and then back down to the can.
The antennas are in the wrong location. Easy fix.
The DVE camera is in the wrong location. Not an easy fix since part of it is already molded to the front hull. Might have to do some scratchbuilding here. Also, I think there is more to the mounting and camera itself than what is supplied.
The plate on the front portion of the TC hatch should be sliced off (or not attached if it is separate in the kit.
The rear shock guards are wrong for a production vehicle. They are perforated with many holes and cover the entire shock - ie they are a different shape than what the kit provides, so some scratchbuilding will need to be done here (or wait for AM to help out).
I wonder if the front four wheels are poseable.
Undercarriage looks very nice. PE choices seem good.
Thus, for those looking to make a quick-build Stryker only some issues to be dealt with - DVE needs moved, antennas moved, plate on TC hatch needs removed. and shock guards need reworked/replaced. For those looking for a really accurate model more of the above needs addressed.

Here are preview pics of the AFV club version of the stryker. You can clearly see the details on the gun mount is much better, which will make me wait for it. I'm anxious but the wait will justify it. Another good thing I really like is that the engine bay is open, so there is a big possibility for scratchbuilt engine or a PE one. I also think AFV Club could have used some pe details here too but the overall impression looks a little better than the trumpeter one.
Maybe Bob can comment on the other details accuracy:

As of right now, all 3 companies, Trumpeter, AVF, and Dragon are only bringing out the normal Stryker, the one with the 50cal mount.
Now Dragon's kit is advertised as the "Stryker Family", whatever that means, you can read into that just as easily as I can and speculate that they may do other varients as well.
There was an announcement early last year when the Strykers were first announced that someone was going to do a Canadian LAVIII variant, basically the Stryker body with the 25mm turret on it, a version that the US actually passed on. However I can't see any of the companies making a separate model that only possibly people in Canada would buy, I mean I know that other would also probably buy it, but it being a Canadian vehicle, it wouldn't have the sales that say a US vehicle would.
Trumpeter has also announced a couple different variants of the LAV 25 chassis:
LAV-R Armored Recovery Vehicle
LAV-C2 Command and Control Vehicle
LAV-AT Anti-tank vehicle
Pictures can be seen over on PMMS
However no dates as to when they are going to be released. As well on the Stryker, it says that it is out now, so I assume its only a matter of weeks, or even days before it shows up on our shores.
Not to change the subject, but Trumpeter's BMP3s are due to be released in July, as well, they now have the box top art for the MAZ 537 Tank Transporters!! Looks like they may be a reality after all!!!!

Exactly Bob, the DVE is an issue, unless you are building one of the first Strykers issued to the US Army. However I know the EPLRS antennae was never mounted there on an ICV. It has to be moved to the right rear of the hull. The plate in front of the VC was actually a design by one of the instructors for GD as a resolution on how to keep the .50 cal brass and MK19 casings from ending up jaming the VC's hatch shut. As we know it did not make it so it was S**t canned for the Catch bags. The strut guards are another problem because all of the Strykers got retro fitted with the new preforated ones.
I agree that this model is for someone who just wants a model of a Stryker. Someone who wants an Acurate model should wait for the AFV or Dragon.

I have done a lot of background work on the Stryker over the past year, and much of what I know is due to Ric. He's the s--- when it comes to the Stryker, and the Bradley too.
As far as the AFV Club offering goes, from what I can see the RWS looks very nice. It does not have the black spent shell chute in the middle of the rear portion, nor does it have the rain/sun shields over the two lenses. However, the kit is only half built in the photos so there is no way to say that these items will not be in the kit. They merely are not there in the preview photos.
As I said, I really like the tie-downs that can be seen in the AFV Club photos. I hope the airguard hatches are poseable - and if they are I hope the hatches have interior detail.
Maybe Ric know this - I have seen what appears to be an upgraded DVE lense that is round instead of rectangular on the PA National Guard trucks. Have you seen or heard of this?
Bob

Yes I have Bob, it is the new sensor for the DVE. It has improved capabilities over the older style sensor. I have not had chance to look at one in a Stryker, but I have in one of the Humvees in my Platoon. The picture has improved a bit.

A guy at Missing-Lynx has already built one up. Check it out here.
The built up model looks better than the test shots. Still has the above noted inaccuracies. Looks like a Stryker though.

Cool. Now, when is the MGS/AGS variant going to be coming out? That's the one I really, really want. Though I'll be getting one of the troop carriers, too.

Hi all
The Stryker is in New Zealand as well, got my first one last week. Already started conversion into NZ Lav III.
