As I write this down, the latest member of our site is M113. I say a heartly welcome to Ilhan, the man behind the callsign.

The same Ilhan decided to send us some pictures of his dio "Quiet !... Brummbar Ahead !" just a couple of days ago.... Pictures of a dio that I just had to share with you. Therefore I have put the pictures in an On-Display Feature.

FEATURE : Quiet !... Brummbar Ahead !

Something tells me that we'll be seeing more of our latest member in future !

Enjoy the pics !

Ilhan

I had a question though. I`m not a railroad expert. was it common that they used wooden planks or beams at railroadcrossings. I`ve never seen it. It looks very cool don`t get me wrong but I like to know if that was used more often at railroadcrossings

Robert,

when you visit railroadmodeling sites of manufacturers and you look at the rr crossings, you notice many crossings that use wooden planks in the middle.

It was quite common in europe in the (post) WWII era.

Those are painted with a mix of Humbrol 72 with Humbrol 155 (80 to 20%).
Thanks for your comments too. :-)

Hello Ilhan. Very impressive, especially the cobblestone road! Can you share with us how you did that part, and the railway!
To my opinion the wood of the railroadcrossing could be a shade darker, but like I said, that's me!

Hope to see lots more of your work...John.

Thank you all for your comments.

And John..that was already a Verlinden diorama base, (unpainted) and resin..just painted, weathered, mounted the building, added the sherman m4a3 105mm and the good old friend jeep and the figures, pole, poster..and..that's it..

Good job on the diorama.

I have one critque for you. Some of the figures seem out of place to me. What I mean is that the bulk of the figures seem to be "in action" while the driver of the jeep and the driver of the Sherman look non-chalant. They don't tie in well with the action of the scene. You might make the Sherman driver be facing the running soldiers or the direction that the tank is about to turn and the jeep driver should maybe be taking cover or grabbing for a weapon to help tie them in to the urgency of the scene.
