Someone ever saw this one? Is it good looking? Better than the Academy Leo RC?
I prefer building my tanks but I want one that shoot! :-)

Hi, folks!
I have the Type 90 (fully detailed up) and the M1A2 (ain't touched it yet!), and I love 'em both. The Abrams has a real low, deep hull, very inaccurate from a scale modeling perspective, but other than that, it looks like and Abrams to me.
To be honest , the novelty of the BB-firing feature wore off in about a week!
The Abrams and I suppose the Leo have a newer RC system than than initial Type 90, but the action is still a little to "Keystone Kops" for me. I wish they could be WAAAAY slower.
I haven't purchased the Leo, but I see them all over the place here, and it looks excellent as well, probably the most accurate of the three released so far.
All three tanks sell these days for about 8,000 yen ($72 US), down from the list price of 12,800 yen ($116 US), which is what I paid for them when they came out.
I'm definately gonna get the Marui Tiger I whenever it comes out. I saw it at the Shizuoka Hobby Show last May, and it looked pretty darn sweet.

The Marui Tiger is going to be out in december 2003. Why don't ya join our site. We could use a Japan based contact to actually get Tokyo Marui involved in the site.

I have seen these Marui tanks on Hobbylink Japan. Here in the states I have seen these tanks marketed by Iwaiver under the label VSTank. Is anyone familiar with these The package and the tanks look identical to the pics on HLJ but they don't have the working gun. Instead they have an infrared battle system similar to the Tamiya item available for their 1/16th armor. They are also a little cheaper than the Marui tanks, about 100bucks.

That is not a Marui tank. Marui tanks are only marketed by Marui as Marui tanks, and the genuine article cannot be found under any other name.
Unless by "these tanks" you simply meant "1/24 R/C tanks," in which case please ignore this post!

I did mean 1/24th RC tanks. I figured they weren't the real item. You can see what I'm talking about on their site at vstank.com. They have three M1's in different schemes and 4 Leopard 2s, the A5 and the A6, each in the nato scheme and a winter scheme. A local hobby shop owner told me they were the Marui tanks without the airsoft gun.
