Hi all

I'm currently building a British Airborne Jeep and I'm wanting to produce my own decals - namely the blue I.D. number that runs down the bonnet sides - as I can't find anything ready-made.

My question is: have any of you tried the Decal Paper available on the market (Experts Choice etc) and if so can you recommend it or suggest any other way I can produce my own markings?

I plan on making several more British Airborne vehicles and so I'm interested in being able to run of the markings when I need them.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

Matt

I've printed my own decals. Couple of points: I used a Lexmark inkjet printer. Using clear decal film, black decals turned out fine. The few I tried with color looked okay on the paper, but weren't opaque enough to see when placed on the model. You can solve that problem by printing on white decal paper and trimming carefully, depending on what you're making...

Cheers Thom

Like an idiot I should've searched the site before I posted as I found an excellent review of Decal Paper on ModelGeek! It seems to me that I'd have to print onto white paper then trim right down to be able to see the decal properly so I think I'll make a stencil from adhesive paper and paint my own marking on.

Thanks to everyone else who looked, sorry for wasting anyone's time!

Matt

PS. My motto is now "Search first - then post" catchy doncha think?
