Hi Guys
Just wanted to give a heads up on a new campaign we are getting planned over on Model Shipwrights site.
It is for Riverine craft (Brown Water Navy) 1945 - 75, as well as craft Amphibious vehicles and barges used during the campaigns there are also invited.
If anybody is interested have a look here
https://modelshipwrights.kitmaker.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=Campaigns&file=index&req=showcontent&id=200
Look forwards to seeing you over there.

Howdy sahariana,
WHAT AN ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC IDEA FOR A CAMPAIGN!!!!
Riverine craft you say? Vietnam-era subject matter? Things that can include Helicopters, Artillery, Howitzers, Heavy MG's, Flamethrowers, Rocket Launchers, Mines, and even Ambulance/Medical ingredients??
WOW!........no that's a Campaign with something for EVERYONE!!
Well, all I can say to that is..."Sign me up!"........oops, wait a minute....I already did.
Come on fellas, crawl outta yer foxholes, clamber down from the safety of your tanks, get the groundcrew to roll the ladder up to your cockpit and all of you try something just a little different by supporting the young soldiers who served in the Mobile Riverine Force during the Vietnam War. Back when our fighting men and women didn't receive half of the honour and recognition that our gallant soldiers fortunately do today.........
Give it a whirl.......ya might like it!

Would LVTs and DUKWs be accepted? They were both used by the French as I understand it. (?)
What about M113s? They are amphibious as well. It might be totally crazy questions I am asking since a M113 is clearly not a ship, but you are writing that amphibious vehicles are accepted. So I am just trying to clarify what this term covers.

I believe the DUKW was still used by the Australian forces also (If I'm not mistaken I remeber seeing a picture of one)

I'm in, too! I dunno where I'm gonna find the time, but I have been itchin' ta start that Nimix Monitor for a couple of years now... Can't think of a better reason not to start it (other than my young son wanting to tear into it like the Viet Cong)...
And hey, if that fails, the Verlinden Sampan is like, three pieces!
Much Aloha,
Johnny B.

Jeps, I will join with either a LVT, M113 or a DUKW. I am thinking to show it entering or leaving brown muddy water. First some research though.

I've got a 1/72 scale LSSC or a 1/72 scale PT-76 if amphibious tanks are allowed.Quoted TextI think I'll join. I probably have some 1/72 scale kit I can pull into this campaign.

Great. I think I will go with A LVT(A)-4. There should be plenty of room for making it down and dirty in the brown water

Hey thanks!
The monitors are a reworked Masterpiece Models CCB kit and a bunch of styrene covering a reworked LCM3 - using some parts from the Masterpiece kit again.
Lots of luck!

Hey Man,
Thanks. Well, I can tell you they all start with lots of reviews of photos and drawings from the web and books. Then, what I find works really well is to take a couple of drawings and blow the up to scale size. Next comes lots of paper templates - then transfer to sheet styrene. The detail parts usually get "borrowed" from somewhere or copied/cast from available sources. Sometimes there's a little guess work where you just don't have enough information. But for the most part, the result is pretty darn good.

Hey Dus,
Yep - They're painfully slow with releases, but they have a lot in the works. The CCB kit is excellent - I just had to change things up a bit. They are on the web. They've got a bunch of small stuff for sale as well.
