Des,
Nice model you have going there. Can't say I like all the B&W photos. I prefer a bit of color, but that's just a personal preference! I'll echo what Roy said earlier about the seam between the curved and vertical surfaces of the fenders. Next time perhaps seal that join with some superglue using baking soda as a kicker. That will leave you a solid sandable join line. Also, the four recesses found on the back plate should be filled, or at least covered in mud to hide, I think. They were designed by Dragon to locate the spare link boxes I believe, and would not be applicable to T66 track. In their place should be threaded steel squares.
Otherwise, super job!

Mike

Thank you Mike. I wasn't sure whether the recesses should have been there or not but thinking about it I see your point.

I have to adjust a few things with the lower hull so the seems on the fenders, the recesses and the speed numbers can get added.

I will get some colour photos on here too. I just get carried away with the B/W as I think it adds atmoshere and authenticity.

Thank you all again for the kind comments.

Des,

Other than the issue with the tracks, you have a great looking kit there!

Thank you Thomas. last night I over killed putting some 'mud' on the running gear so I will have to see to that. I will sort out the tracks while Im at it.

Im still finding my feet again with building, painting, weathering etc so this will probably be a common occurance.

The tank now has the large numbers on the hull sides courtesy of Archer transfers. These were to accurately depict a 6th Armd Div tank. Stowage is almost complete and the crew are coming along nicely. Pictures to follow hopefully in the next couple of weeks.

The E8 has been put to bed for a while. Got too much on at the moment and don't want to risk it getting smashed or damaged in any way.

E8 got put to bed and still managed to get broke!!! How the hell it happened I dont know but I aint happy one bit!!! Commanders hatch snapped off, hand rails snapped off, MG mount snapped off.

I did manage to clean up the suspension and road wheels though using Mr Muscle oven cleaner. Masked off the upper hull so it wouldn't get ruined and applied the spray over the running gear. Left it for a couple of minutes and gave it a rub with an old toothbrush. Washed it off with clean water to see how it had turned out and decided to give it another coat with the oven cleaner. Same process. Turned out ok. Good enough for me to redo the weathering anyway.

This was my first attempt at individual track links. Can anyoner offer good tips for getting the weathering right. Especially where the road wheel tyres leave distinctive darker lines when they have been run over the tracks for long periods. With the rubber band tracks it was a piece of cake.

This E8 is on the way to recovery. Fruil tracks on order, fixed running gear, hatches, re-worked stowage and fresh transfers.

Progress photos will follow in the next couple of days.

Thanks Brad. Encouragement is always welcome, as is a large child free workspace and blank cheque from Bill Gates

Im surprised this one made it this far Brad. A few too many mishaps for my liking. The encouragement is always appreciated though, thank you.

Ive got some lead foil on the way so that should help with the tarp for the stowage and I might even have a bash at straps for the tools. Never done them before though so I will have to experiment.
