Howdy all. I have been trying to come up with a campaign that would be new and hasn't been done in the past. This is what I was thinking.
Title: "Tri-athalon"
Goal: Build any Any three models in the time alotted
Subjects: (Here's where its gets fun) In a lot of IPMS run events, there is a Pentathalon event where the builder must build 5 models from differing subjects, ie. Armor, aircraft, sci-fi etc. I think 5 is a bit much, but 3 might be doable. So the subjects areas would be what you would find in most contests.
Armor, Aircraft, Automotive, Figures, Sci-fi, Ships, Diorama's/Vignettes. Pick three that interest you and go for it.
Scale would be anything goes
Time line: I was thinking about 6 months since it is multiple builds and some folks are pressed for time as it is.
A jazzy ribbon would be designed/awarded for all who enter.

I'd flesh out more specifics before we went hot. Just trying to get a pulse at this point.

Thats what I have at the moment. Any thoughts/suggestions/complaints etc. Please let me know. Thanks. "Q"

Hi Matthew,

Nice idea you have.
Maybe you could add in the campaign constraints that the model have to be linked between them (like the color blue, or ancient and modern, etc).
Personnally I Have diffciulties to finish one entry for a campaign, I cannot imagine builduing three models in a row..
You should allow a long term for this campaign.
My 2 yens thoughts.

Nice idea but like Julien I have enough trouble finishing one model for a campaign. It would probably be a modelgeek campaign also as it's a modelling campaign and not an armour one

I think three models for one campaign might be over the top. But it could be done none the less. However, the subjects should be linked - fx. all subjects need to be German WWII or something similar.

I have 4 projects now that all fit current campaigns, 3 of them can each qualify for 2 or more of them.(stuart honey in British desert markings, LAV in sand OIF markings, ect)....

I still liked my old idea of a 'UN' white campaign. Any vehicle any time frame painted in UN white. Don't feel like running a campaign though.... I think campaigns need to stick with one model as a requirement. Otherwise I feel someone would just do 4 1/72 models....Its hard enough to keep interested in one 500+part modern kit as it is.

Im going to have to stick with a fellow Kevin. Three is a little much. And UN white as an idea does sound good.

This is a great novel idea which gives all those building, a broad spectrum of talent development skills. Lets get this one off the ground. u got my vote.

What woule be wrong with building 4 1/72 kits? I wouldn't want to limit this to just one scale. There are subjects out there other than armor. I guess I may need to move this to the modelgeek forum too....There are plenty of easy to do projects as well. There would be more than enough time.... I still need to hash out details. How many folks would be interested is all I want is to know at this point. Todd thanks for your interest. If I don't get anymore, maybe you and I can go at this alone. Thanks again. "Q"

Nothing wrong with 1/72 kits, but most 1/35 kits have twice as many parts just in the tracks.
