Well I have to be honest with you all. I may have accidently just stumbled upon a Magic Server Bullet. Have you seen those IBM commercials.... Magic Pixie Dust, Universal Business Adapter, etc. Well I just installed a new piece of software to the server that "seems" to have done wonders to our performance issues. Now I may be jumping the gun. We will need to see how Armorama is doing with 60 users online. But early indications for me are about a 300% speed improvement in page loading (just a guess).

I may still need to move the site to a dedicated server however. We are currently at about 76% of space on our hard-drive. For those that remember we just went from 500mb to 1000mb fairly recently. So we have already used up about half of that space. This in conjunction with the desire to offer more space for pictures and other article/review files, etc means we are going to outgrow what Interland can offer (1GB is the max on this type of account).

So...good news I think. Let's hope I didn't do something that will crash the site tomorrow. Lol.

Cheers,
Jim

instead of carrying the server to another one,i think you can make the new pages in another server and give links to the new one..just an idea

Okay....I have activated the Front-Gate, Recon Photos, and may even try the old WebChat module again. I also up'd our client max from 70 to 100 so we can see if we can't "push the envelope" a bit further and have 100 users online at once.

Oh...I am such a geek. #:-)

That's some great news there Jim. I can see the difference in performance this morning.

Don't you feel like some sort of mad scientist working feverishly behind the curtains?

I like it, I still want the new server. Think of how much you could expand on it now... drool...
