Thought i would share this bust i have sculpted with any film fans of CROSS OF IRON,being my favourite war film i decided to do a 1/9 scale bust of Sergeant Steiner played by James Coburn.I am hoping to do another bust of Kruger(the scruffy one who wears the russian wool hat).
The bust is sculpted with Magic Sculpt over milliput and painted in enamels.

All comments welcome.

Very nice Steve...!!!

Very good likeness and well painted. I wish I had the sculpting skill to do this kind of work. My attempts all look like Gumby....

Good work!!!
Nicely sculpt and painted!
I share your opinion on the film. It is one of the best, if not the best, on its genre.
Thanks for sharing your work with us!

Cheers, mate!

Very nice work. Well sculpted and painted

Hehe, strange to see this appear while I'm waiting for my copy of the film on DVD I ordered 2 weeks ago. My VHS tape of this film is starting to show it's age :-)

I also think that it's one of the best ww2 movie ever made. Not bad when you think it's near 30 years old

Steve,

Very nice! One of my favorite films, and a very nice rendition of Steiner! When you do Kruger, don't forget the mites!

Steve,
That's really great. It would be nice if James Coburn's family could see this now that he's passed on. It's such a fitting tribute to such a great actor in the prime of his life! He was one of my favorites from the Great Escape on...
