Dear All
I am working on my M1078, and i allready put these radio mount
2 X-wing antenna mid range VHF and 1 long range VHF antenna, I had two normal antenna on the flat bed.
So I install 5 different radio units
On the cabin, I install two Sincgars racks containing:
1- a RT-1439/VRC plus a AN/PRC-117
2- two RT-1523E plus a AN/PRC-113
So Question,
1-Is it a normal set-up or it is redundant?
Now my stupid question:
Hom many handset i need to install 5 because there are 5 different radios ??
Thanks in Advance
Seb

Seb,
Do you have a picture of your radio set up?
I know you will need a hand mike each for the 1523E and 117. I'm gonna go ahead and say yes to all 5, but lets see what the others say.
As for being redundent, I'm not sure since it is a SF vehicle. I have seen command vehciles with a crap load of commo on it.

Pete
thanks for your quick answer, I don't have my camera with me now. Sorry
i hope to send you some pictures beginning of the week, you will see the cabin and the radio set up complete.
For the handset, ok let's go for 5 handsets
cheers

I agree with Pete. Since the vehicle is out on its own, so to speak, I think it is realistic to have so many radios. And as Pete says, each radio will have its own handmike as well.

X3.
The only issue I see is the mounting arrangements. You can't put a 1523 and a 117 in the same mount, etc. And two E models can't be installed next to each other, only one per slot. I guess I would need to see your plans. But yeah, they all need a handset.
