I would like to say that Micro Scale's Micro Set and Micro Sol are the best I have ever used. My 6 yr old boy loves motorcycles. He has started building models (with assistance...) so we got him a 1/24 Airfix Suzuki, skill level 1. The build was OK, something he could grasp. The decals on the other hand were a skill level 59. I took the chance to "play" with my bottle of Micro Sol and I couldn't believe how easy it was!!! And the looks are fantastic!!! This stuff allows for mistakes, with enough open time to correct them. Wait too long and nothing will help!!
Great stuff that even my other son, 14 yr old, has started to use and get a handle of!!!!

I have always used SOLVASET on my decals. Walthers make it and a 2 oz. bottle has lasted me about 5 years.

What I do is paint the model and let dry, paint the area where the decal will go with a bit of gloss, let dry. Place the decal on this area, let dry. Throw on another coat of gloss, let dry. Do a coat of Dullcote. Weather to your liking. The results are amazing. Decals look like they were painted on.

I have been using Microset and Microsol for about 20 years and no complaints.
Since I started using future, I found that I did not need Microsol and just use a touch of the Microset. Microsol really softens the decal so be careful if you choose to use it. They are more likely to tear. fyi...
