I remember some posts requesting information on the canvases that sherman’s carried and thought this picture may be of interest.

Why do you think so many are painted out? There is one pretty well known picture of a Sherman about to be towed up onto a Dragon Wagon that has two night shell holes right through the star, and it's not as big a star as on the pictured Shermans.
