Hello All,
I am in the process of putting the Stryker together and would like to hear from others that may have experienced the same problem.

In step 1 part A5 and A6 give the impression that they rise up towards the wheels from the transmission. Is this correct? If this is correct than part A5 is keyed incorrectly on both of my kits. On mine when I attached the parts A6 (right side) points up and A5 (left side) points down. Has anyone else noticed this?

I honestly have no idea as I don't have the kit, but Dave Nickels has a pseudo build blog available over on Missing Lynx that may help. He noticed some issues with the suspension and took photos of his progress.
Here is the link.
Hope it helps.

Andy,
I would say that the problem is you are following the instructions... So you are really still alive and actually building models. I will start my Stryker in a couple of days (once it gets here) so let me know the pitfalls.

Are you going to make an appearence next month in Maryland??? If so

John,
I responed to you by email a couple of times but no contact. I'll send a PM once done here. I plan on attending AMPS. If I'm not there already testing some new equipment...

Hi Andy,

I am just about finished building this kit. I ran into a bit of trouble when I built the suspension too. I thought at first that I had just screwed something by going to fast up but perhaps its actually the kit?

The parts you mentioned do rise up towards the wheels and when I ran into same problem you experienced I just exchanged the parts around until I got everything to look the same way. They arn't critcal to how the suspension will eventually sit so don't get too upset if they seem to be less then perfect.

I am enjoying this kit but its not the easiest thing to build. Lots of clean up and test fitting. It reminds me of an older Dragon kit. It doesn't fall together but in a way thats been part of the enjoyment on this project for me.

Hi guys,
Tankrider is definately on the right track.
I've built quite a few Chinese kits, including some I bought there.
Trumpeter is by far the best, but eary on I learned not to take the instructions for granted.
You always have to remember that Chinese read right to left and occassionally I think that slips into steps in the instructions, were it says "this goes on this side'can actually mean the reverse.
I'm about 1/2 or 3/4's through my Stryker and I'm quite happy with it.
I take my hat off to Trumpeter for the fact that on the more difficult etched parts, they give you the option of using molded pieces.

By the way,I've been married to a Chinese woman for 14 years and she still gets some things backwards.

Okay, I'm glad I wasn't the only one that noticed this since it wasn't mentioned by anyone doing this build, and yes I have already started deviating from the directions.

Ok I just finished up parts A34,35,36 and A8. So what everyones saying is the parts A5 and 6 point upwards right! and not as is shown in the instructions. What's up with the missing driveshafts, are those large raised pieces repersent them. I went and cut them out and replace them with round stock. Thanks for the heads up.

Just completed building my M1126 Stryker, and for the money, all the parts fit EXCELLENT, and the only drawback I have, is that it should of come with a complete interior. All the hatches open, but no interior (boo) I lightly weathered mine, and it looks FANTASTIC, I hope the other two manufactures come out with different versions of the variant, or have add on kits to enhance the (ICV) version. Other than that, TRUMPTER did a fantastic job and is well worth the price asking. Got mine on Ebay from a Hobby Shop in NY which sent it in two days!!!
