It won't suck up the paint I think it might have to do with the fact that it uses compressed air instead ofa compressor Any sugestions?

Not quite sure about the answer...can you tell us about the brush (aztex. iwata, paasche) and what type of paint (enamal, acrylic...), and any details on the set-up would help...

well without any further details the only guess i'd have was your paint is too thick... or your airbrush is stopped up......... more information would be helpful.

One idea before you give more details: take the whole airbrush a part (where the paint is, not the air supply) and soak in IPA (alcohol).
And, make sure the next batch of paint is thin enogh.

Sometimes have that problem meself while using my Badger 175. The problem (for me) was cleaning (tsk tsk tsk). The airbrush wasn't that clean, and the paint was a wee bit thick (i.e., not enough thinner was mixed).
What I do is to get a paint bottle filled with thinner and use that with the AB. sometimes the thinner won't come out. Since mine is a bottom feed, I remove the jar, invert the AB, and shoot. The old dried paint clogging the AB gets removed by the thinner. I do that several times until my AB works again.
It could also be an air source problem. Maybe your air source doesn't have that much pressure left in it. Check how much pressure is left in your compressed air.
