Hi there
I eagerly ripped through the box yesterday only to realise that the final sculpted figure stances/poses are very static compared to the dynamic artwork and instruction illustrations by Ron V. You can clearly see what I mean when comparing the finished figures photo on the rear of the box (of the corporal with the M1 on the far right) to the same figure on the instructions... I know rarely is the art and actual item identical, but as the figs are supposed to represent his artistic renditions, I'm
just a little disappointed...
There is very little blousing on the pants above the leggings also, and as such I'm going to undertake a revision of the legs myself, and the torso and arms if required... Will try to use as many of the kit parts as possible, and will post progress as it 'appens...
Cheers for the whine
Brad
P.S. Most everything else is exquisite! And yep,I put on my magno-goggles and proved the barrel is hollowed on the M1... :-)

Hi Brad,

I also bought the US armoured figures two weeks ago.
For the moment I only built the officer with the M1. I've noticed that according to how you place the feet, the pose is more in action or not...
I didn't build yet the figure holding the MG and the one holding the tripod, but they seem to be top notch !
I've planed to convert them to make them more frenchy..cocorico !

I will post pics as soon as I will have time.

Best,
Julien

Not specifically on the subject of the U.S. Infantry, but I have been in contact with both DML and RonV on the subject of more 'dynamic' posing in their figure sets.

My argument is fairly simple - technically, DML are at the top of the game regarding areas such as:

Along with equipment or clothing detail etc. However, i'm damned sure that if other companies are doing 'active' figures (and doing them VERY convincingly) that DML has the technical wherewithall to do them.

RonV by the way is NOT a sculptor for the figures I'll keep you posted as to what happens, sufficient to say, DML are taking it seriously..
