This afternoon i'll be posting news of LionRoar's latest 1/35th scale releases. Now, we've all seen some prettyb extravagant updates for 1/35th vehicles (sets for the BR52 for example) this however, is just a sneaky-peek at an update set for DML's M2 halftrack:

Has the world gone completely mad?

See if YOU can spot any plastic....

Bah! Useless since they chickened-out on the front part of the bumper, a bit of a challenge to do that one in p-e

Humour aside:
No the world isn't any crazier than usual, some modellers will buy this p-e kit and some of those will actually build it as well.
As long as there are potential buyers there will sooner or later be a seller as well.

If the date was different, I'd swear it was a joke.

I wonder if they have the correct screws? :-)

You forgot to mention that the update set cost more than twice the price of the kit itself

Yes, the World has indeed gone mad

You know, they could have done that for the Tamiya halftracks before all the new ones started coming out.....
Better have your soldering skills sharpened up for this one at any rate.

Why have they stopped so short of a full kit?

This is indeed ridiculous. But what is even more ridiculous is that they will sell a s* load of them

Holy mother of god, that is just plain mental!

But then Aber (or was it Eduard?) do a similar thing for the DML SdKfz 251 too, so perhaps I'm not that suprised really....

Is this kit a definite product, or is this possibly a Photoshopped fake?

Agreed! This is insane and a waste! DML just made a BEAUTIFUL new kit and now someone has to bring out a set like this? I can see some interior details, maybe some minor things. The only part of the PE that I see worth while is the hood. Other than that this one has gone too far.

And you know whats hilarious, DML had a few omissions and one of them was that they left the exhaust pipe sort of hanging. Now one can easily just make a tail pipe holder with some stock wire or card, but for all this elaborate set has, Lionroar FORGOT THAT?

Have to agree with you James. Personally, this set does nothing for me either. IŽd rather spend the extra cash on a Blast update for the stowage!

This really is nuts. Isn't there some similar kit to "update" the Italeri Chafee where the only kit parts used are the lower hull? AMS gone mad.

Would be a fun challange to build. Not sure its worth the scratch, but if one appeared on my door step I would give it a go!

Yeah, Formations does an update set for the Chaffee. The difference is, that set corrects the many faults with the Italeri kit. Whereas this one just appears to be replacement PE pieces for the plastic parts.

It certainly looks bright and shiny! That's a lot of metal to join, not to mention get mated up to the chassis underneath. Wonder how much it would weigh when finished?
