Hi
I am looking for any opinion about the 2 sets issued by AEF Design for the Tamiya Sheridan (one for the turret, the other for the upper hull). Are they good enough for me to get my dust covered M 551off its shelf and finally build it (I already have Jaguar wheels and tracks set) ?
TIA

I can't say anything about that particular set but from other posts I've read about AEF they are hit and miss on their kits (some nice, most need work). Also unless you can check out the kits contents before you buy, I would pass. I've heard alot of people complain about missing items in their sets and never getting any replacements. I will say that this was in 2001, so I don't know if they have changed in the last year.

I don't know about the quality of the kit but I had a horrible time dealing with them in the past. I ordered a few product, some were good, some were crap, and a couple had missing parts. I made a few phone calls and several e-mails to them and was promised each time that the missing parts would be shipped right out. I never got them. It's to bad because I would like to get some of their Iraqi armor upgrades but don't trust them enough to order directly from them and I haven't found any other companies that sale their Iraqi stuff.

Well,if I get it right, ordering from them is like beting on the Kentucky Derby : unfortunately I am not rich enough to lay about $50 (+postage !) on a unpredictable horse ...
Thanks for your replies

I used the AEF turret set a few years ago and it wasn't bad which is saying alot for AEF. Unfortunately, the Tamiya Sheridan has a very bad reputation.

I was about to order some stuff from AEF, but then saw that they weren't shipping until June.Unfortunately their lists do contain a lot of stuff that I need (LAV wheels, IFF panels etc.) Any suggestions? Jim
