I have received my KV2 kits by Trumpeter and I must say at first glance I am very pleased with this purchase. I would also like to add a that I am very pleased with model hobbies in the UK from whom I purchased the kits, helpful and prompt service thank you.
I have jumped straight in building the KV2 in German service, there was a lot of comments about the tracks included with this kits when I asked about what others here thought of these models in general, I have to say that while not overly impressed with the rubber band tracks, I am very pleased with the moulded offering included in the box, it’s a nice touch offering both options depending on your skill level. Trumpeter appear to have put in a lot of time and effort over the detail included around the wheel supports and hull sides.
All in all this seems very well designed, very little flash, the instructions are very clear, and all parts well moulded. Who knows maybe I may even post pictures of this build. Dragon could learn a lot from the instructions included with this kit as my only complaint about Dragons offerings is the fact it’s hard to follow the instructions they provide.

I totally agree with you! The KV series by Trumpeter are gret and their price is ridicuolus. I've built the KV-1 and it has nothing to envy of the Tamiya and DML offerings, though some details would be better if made in metal (Ie the hooks for the tow cables which are made with plastic)!

Be careful when cutting the soft copper for the tow wires They will fray real easy

The Trumpeter KV series would have to be some of the best value for money AFV kitsets available in 1:35 scale.
A good way of dealing with this is to place a spot of superglue on the ends and on the place to be cut (Trumpeter say 7.1cm long) - to cut I recommend a sharp straight edged blade against a steel ruler.

I have some photo hanging wire which I will most likely use instead. I thought the instructions for bending wire to simulate fuel lines was a nice touch, saves a lot of guess work

Mmhmm,It'll build up real nice out of the box. These are the link and length track. They fit perfectly.Though there are knockout marks on them, they are easy to clean.
