I am actually using enamel "Model Master" paints for my whole figures and dios. Does anybody know the combination of colors for painting the base, the lights and the shades of a WWII German uniform?
Besides, would you recommend me use water with enamel paints (for example, while painting shades)? how about thinner? (what would be the proportion of the mix?)
Thank you all!!

Well to be honest, i start out by using german uniform "Feldgrau" in model master enamel.
then I kind of leave it, or sometimes i will mix it with black
hope that helps!

This topic keeps coming up, I think it best to use various different colours and match them up by eye. Uniforms were very varied due to washing, weather etc. One field grey tunic would be very different to another. Check your resources..if you don't have any ..get some. Modelling is 3/4 research and preparation if you want ot do a good job. HTH some

As was said above... eyeball the colours and try to vary them a little. I use flesh 25% and base coat 75% for highlights with maybe a bit of white added for peaks. Add 15% black for shadows.
Never use water for thinnning enamels .......... use turpenoid or humbrol thinner or even model masterīs own thinner!

After reading many many posts in this forum, and trying the colour myself; my small german soldiers now wear Humbrol 111 'Uniform Grey" and some of them wear Tamiya's Field Grey. I like them both.
All helmets were painted with Humbrol's Olive Drab, and i think its a very realistic colour.
