Thanks for your time in reading this and any responses. Back in December I decided to try out the CafePress system for offering branded Armorma products and other custom graphics items to all of you. The response was pretty good during the first few months but there were no orders last month so I am a little worried that the $7 a month I am getting charged will eventually over-weigh any money we did bring in early on. So... I need some feedback from all of you on what you would like to see product wise. The possibilities are rather endless for things. Bumper stickers with funny sayings. Shirts with the Der Sontag Bund logo, shirts for AMPS 2003 (no logo of course just text). You name it.

I just need to know this is something you all want to take advantage of. Heck if you want me to upload a graphic of your kid or family so you can order a few shirts I will gladly oblige.

If some of our more creative graphic design folks want to submit their own work for use on products I am fully open to that also (with profit sharing if desired).

Thanks,
Jim

Could you do something like our rank and call-sign over the Armorama logo? That would be cool. Maybe have any awards we have won.

I like Rob's suggestion above. I've got three shirts and a cool Mug right now - always looking for something else

Get YodaMan to do some banners - he's got nothing else to do...

Gunnie :-)

(Seriously - I really like that banner you made for GunTruck Studios over on the Top 100 Site. That would be fantastic on a Mug...)

I ordered a shirt about 11/2 or 2 weeks ago. I like the site logo just fine, but it might not be a bad idea to have some type of "merchadise content push". I am sure if everyone knows you are looking for ideas some good ones would come. I am assuming that it doesn't cost you anything to add extra graphics or items, is that correct? Also, can we go somewhere to see all the merchandise possibiliteis there are to help get the ideas rolling?

Andrew,
Cool. Thanks for posting that link. They definately have a wide array of products. And yes you are right that it does not cost any more to upload new images.

Some of the items I definately want to do in the future are:

2004 WWII Diorama Calendar - Featuring a scene from a historical WWII event for the month in question.

2004 Armor Reference Calendar - References images of all sorts of AFV's

Armorama Jr. Lunchbox - Some as yet unthought of image that young modelers would enjoy.

Shirts - Lots of shirt ideas. Never enough time to develop them all.

Posters - Given a high enough resolution image, there are so many possibilities here.

Cheers (and waiving across town)
Jim

A poster of a collage of each of the armoram campaigns would be neat. Maybe we could put in a picture of each of the projects in the campaign onto a poster. It would take someone with some photoshop skills to get them all in and looking great. Maybe even put a little bit of text explaining the historical events being recreated. I am going to assume one more time that you don't want anything that is less than positive about our French or German "allies".

I would be more interested in posters and calendars vs. clothing.

I like CSM Rob's idea of clothing, but I'm afraid the initial cost of embroidery setups on an individual basis would wind up being too cost prohibitive (sorry Rob)... However, I do like the idea of a 2004 Calender; I would suggest "Best of show" by unanimous vote in each of the existing 6 disciplines (i.e., Armor, Aircraft, etc.)in pairs to cover 2 months each type, and include photos of the builders? I would gladly pay for something like that!

Maybe some FM scanner with Armorama logo imprint, or such?

CafePress clothing is silk-screened and not embroidered. There are no additional setup fees for each piece with them. Just the time it taks me to setup and upload a high resolution image to their site.

Dave - FM scanner??

It's a FM scanner radio, very small. and cheap, and you can put graphics on them.

One thing I thought of after posting this was that if someone wanted a rank, it would have to be done in such a way that it would not be construed as a military rank, like putting the rank insignia on a background with the word Armorama below it, or something to distinguish it from the US Army, or Jedi Knights Local 127.

Jim

Sorry to give comments on the merchandising on the big "A" but most of the clothes are really to light for me. I wear mostly dark clothes. So maybe another collection with dark colthes varying from dark grey to Black.
My suggestion for a baseball cap would be.. A dark cap with only the Crosshair of Armorama (the letter O) centered in the middle I think that would look very cool

Just a guess

What happened to the colors on the shirts? I just got the maroon shirt I ordered today but when I go to the logowear again there is only white. Are the colors going to come back at all?
