Try to find the Styrofoam thingy in DIY shops, the stuff is very versatile.
Easy to cut and glue it with white glue. every detailing you can simply scribe in with a pen. Look in the features section for the link to DISTRACTION greta`s Revenge that`s my step by step article on how I made my dio. The smae link is posted in one or two of other topics you started. Also in the same feature section you`ll find a link called Making a Dio from scratch. A truely great article by the master Keith Magee wich is really worthy to look for.
What you will discover when you are making your own buildings and stuff that it`s easier then it looks
Hope it is of some help

and yes, building your own is a LOT of fun, and can be inexpensive as well. If you don't have the time nor inclination, I now have about 8 "plaster kits" of various buildings that I offer. Houses, taverns, warehouses, factories... you name it.
If you would like me to email my electronic catalog, just send an email request to [email protected]
