Ciro,
Very nice. Good job on the armored windows. The doors look a little thin to me. Other than that, very well done.

Ciro, I like the updates you made. The tow bar looks great as do the chains holding it up. My only concern is where you put those water boxes. I understand for numerous reasons that you aren't portraying a vehicle on a mission, thus I won't bug you for not strapping down the water boxes, however your placement of them means that you would be able to open either hatch. Putting them along the side, like that ammo box would allow access, plus if I was a soldier, putting some a box on top of that hatch requires a lot more effort than I am willing to expend if I was just tossing it up from ground level.
Otherwise, you have built a fine model and displayed it in a way that most don't, unarmed and sitting around, which makes this quite unique and appealing. Great job.
Jeff

Hey Ciro!
How ya been?! The Humvee is looking awesome. Did you make the concrete barriers yourself, or did you buy them? If you bought them, let me know, and I'll tell you how to make them easily out of plaster. Catch ya later!

Hi guys,thanks for yours replies,
Thomas, doors are an eduard set...and I agree with you about the thin look.....
Jeff, your consideration about the distribution of the items is correct, this is an help!!!Thanks!!!!I think to change the base with another(more big)and put the items in right position....
My Humvee is more dirty than the Humvee that we can see on armorama,Tires are the wrong type(the old ones) cause I'm still painting the new radial tires....the original idea was to show an Humvee before a patrol(more or less)
Thanks again
Ciro

Hey Ciro
Nice build. I must have missed your progress some how I would have remembered this one!! How did you make the newspaper?? And I wonder where you got the towbar from.
Keep up the good work

other than the items mentioned what I noticed is the Tow Bar. It is a heavy track Towbar and if it were to be used on the Humvee, the very thin brush guard woud not be the place to mount it. If the crew were to hit a large bump or hit the breaks really hard you stand a good chance of losing both Towbar and Brush guard.
There are lighter towbars that are used by wheeled vehicles. I do not know of any out in production at this time though.

Yeah, I don't recommend changing it now. Most tow bars are strapped to the back on the tail gate where the straps are. They are smaller, but not much, they just look lighter. I'll upload some photos soon to show you the ones in use, plus some other things they use, including a tow strap, if I can find a good pic of it. I know I've got one somewhere.

Hi, Ciro. Your Humvee is looking pretty good. Other than the items already mentioned, which are all fairly minor, that is one good-looking build you have there. Far nicer than the one I slapped together a few months back.

ok, look at http://s99.photobucket.com/albums/l314/USNavy2534/ for some photos of humvee tow bars and tow straps. Click on the two sub-folders to view each.
The tow bar itself deploys like a V with the point latching into the tow shackle of the towing humvee. The other way is a towing strap which hooks up.....I'm not really sure how. I have a few ideas, but I don't have any pictures of it hooked up.

If I'm not mistaken, the tow strap is looped through the front tow shackles of the vehicle, then coiled and (usually) hooked to one of the lifting points that protrude through the hood. That way, someone can unhook it and then quickly hook up to the vehicle being used to tow.

Ciro;
The water boxes. As an NCO, I would never let any of my troops leave the water boxes like that. They got stacked in the back of the humvee or they were on the pallet they came on.
The ammo can? what is that there for? Ammo is very controlled in the army and we dont leave it laying about. Again as an NCO, i would not be happy walking past one of my vehicles, unattended with a full ammo can sitting on the roof.
You've got a drip pan sitting on the rear hatch. That goes under the engine to catch engine oil/ power steering fluid that will inevitably leak.
Also you got the antenna mount for the second radio antenna that is on the drivers side of the vehicle, actually on the side. It should be on the back of the vehicle.
Like the LVOSS system, nice touch.

Ciro,
Nice looking M1025. One thing that I see missing is a strecher, We had the mesh versions on every vehicle, either strapped to the front or rear bumpers (M1114) or to the front brushguards (M1025 or M998). The wheeled vehicle towbar is not too hard to convert from the tracked version. Use some thinner styrene rod or tube for the arms and fabricate smaller end shackles. Use the pics that Jeff provided for your references. We also had a tow strap or kinetic rope on every vehicle for quick recoveries. As for the ammo can, our vehicles stayed uploaded all of the time. We just removed the crew served weapons whe the vehicle was not in use.
FWIW
