How do you recreate the magenta tone used on modern US periscopes?

I have come across a method shown to me by another modeler...
Go to a dollar store...or anyplace that sells party supplies.....dollar store as its cheap.
Get yourself some metalic confetti....the ones I bought look like hearts....about a 1/2 inch by a 1/2 inch...they come in all different colors....the magenta being one of them...just cut out a section to fill the hole for the perisopes..and glue in the spot....looks really cool...
As well you can use them for thermal sights on AFVs...as well as scopes, and sights on portable missile launchers like a TOW or Milan or such.

Can't remember where I picked up this tip (I didn't think of it myself!) but I'm using old music tape, just cut it to size and glue it on with the white glue "houtlijm". (somebody translate this for me please)
Just don't take your best musictape... #:-)

Another thing that works good (for me at least) are the transparent colored tabs used to separate notebook subjects; They come in various colors, and since they're plastic, you can use elmers, testors window cement, or future to hold them in place.
