Hi all
Here is my latest diorama base. It will have a Sherman in the centre and there are three areas to be made as puddles. I want to portray a mined Sherman, which has susequently thrown a track, with a crewman looking on in despair or bemusement...
It has had a prime coat then a coat of Red Brown from a Tamiya rattler (really should look into getting that compressor...)
From here I will do some touch ups with some burnt sienna acrylic, and then a wash with some umber maybe... I have no set method as all muds are different in my book...
Will keep you posted, as I'm not going anywhere for the Easter break

I know they are pretty inconclusive, but that's the prob with being monotone at the moment...
You may see some small grasses which will get a late Autumn touch methinks.
Cheers

Good morning Bradley,

????? didn't you post the base already some moons ago or is it nearly the same stil ?

The mud looks very good, colours not really good to see due to the pics quality.
I looked in your gallery (to identify the base) and i saw this nice building again (page 2 of your gallery). What happened with it ?

Cheers
Claude (on a half hour building break :-) )

Hey digger,
I knew all that sculpting would get to ya after a while...move away from the darkside and into the light
This is looking really nice mate, you certainly have got the technique down to a tee in regards to muddy groundwork.
It would be nice to see some pics under some natural light, hint, hint
Cheers,Shay

Thanks Jesper; you should be my foreman, as you are brimming with confidence:D

Thanks Michael for the kind words

Where is the sherman?

The Sherman will have to be finished first as one of the puddles will cover the rear right track...

Hey Brad,
Base looks good mate, I like your suggestion of adding a small amount of vegetation, it will help break up the monotone brown. Also adds some more visual details for the viewer. looking forward to seeing more progress.

i think you might try to sift some dirt and mix it with a white glue or thin white gluee lay that down color it to ure liking and gloss it over it does not have enogh texture to seem realy realy real great tank plse ad more pics
