Hi all,
I've got a question. I recently bought the Dragon 6283 M4A3E8 "Albin F. Irzyk" Sherman.
With this kit are green stars included which were use during the battle of the bulge. I want to use this tank for a campagne "crossing the rhine". My question is which stars do I have to use? The green, white or no stars (many picture show shermans without stars)
Can some one help me?

The green star decals represent stars that have been painted out with fresh olive drab to reduce the vehicle's visibility. All stars after the North African campaign were white (in 1942, some armored units still used yellow stars). Your vehicle may have stars or not depending on your photo references.

While we're asking about Sherman stars, what does the star with the red lines in one of the lower points represent?

Martin: as Gerald already statedk, there was tremendous variation between units and even tanks within units as far as the white star goes. Your best bet it to match a particular photo.
Jeff: the star with the red stripes was a device used by the 11AD to identify its tank battalions and companies within those battalions. A white dot around the start indicated BN and the stripe indicated the co. (1 stripe= A co., 2 stripes = B co., etc.)

Martin,
Concords 7001, 7046 and 7051 are a good start for US vehicle pics.
