Ive found that green drab works best for me. But so many different shades were there that If it looks right use it.but for germans you have to be more specific.there were tons of different camo jobs on german armor.

I agree ...... that is a very very tall question and can spark about 20 different answers. There were many tanks ..... American - German - Italian - Israeli - Modern Era - WW2 Era - WW1Era .............. Exactly what are you looking for ?

I say ignore his post. He's been posting all nonsense topics in the forum, i.e. "what colour should tanks be"; "what is good for making houses", "Is card- board good for houses", "how do i build houses", and many more topics in Figure forum.

He said he's just trying to push up his post number -->

Good question. From dark green to light gray passing through all the possible shades!

Gentlemen .................... gentlemen ...... until proven otherwise, this modeler still deserves
to me treated with the code we modelers carry, which is - " helping other modelers who ask for our assistance. I remember when I was the one on the other end asking for help and was kindly given it no matter the question.

With all due respect to all of you & "cartridge, " We should give him " the benefit of the doubt " before we start jumping to conclusion's. However on the same note: Cartridge, you will find most answers to your question's by doing a simple SEARCH .... It is then, if you don't or can't find an answer that is satisfactory, that you should ask your question, & start a thread.

" IN GENERAL " - Your question has been asked many times over on this forum, and there is a very sufficient quanity of answers and opinion's to it, had you done a search first.
JUST TRYING TO GIVE YOU A LITTLE ADVICE YOU MY FRIEND.

Well, if he actually owns a model kit;

a. Color choices will be listed somewhere in the instructions

or,

b. Look at the picture on the box that the kit came in.

or,

c. Bright pink with blue flames. I think an army that paints its vehicles in this fashion would be invincible.

Good question....

You are not serious? This is like asking "What color is a car?"

Hello all,
I normally don't jump into the hot topics but this time I have a possible solution that might help.
I agree with what screaming eagle had to say on this subject. Cartridges profile states that he is eleven years old. I've read over the posts he has made and they seem to me to be appropriate for an eleven year old kid.
Here is my suggestion: Could Jim start another forum for junior modelers?
It could be a good place for the younger folks to post these kind of questions. I know that they seem rather simplistic to the rest of us. But , for example, if I was eleven years old and saw a color in the instructions listed as "dunklegrau", I wouldn't have any idea what they were talking about. And I'd be tempted to ask a question like..."what color should tanks be?"
We all talk about encouraging the younger people to get interested in the hobby. This might be a way to do so without overwhelming them with the degree of interest we all have.
I'm not taking sides here. It's just a suggestion.
I don't mean to offend anyone here and I hope that I haven't done so.

In addition to Mongo_mels thought, it also applies as to why the idea of him wanting more posts to get a higher rank

Just a question. Is it really such a good idea for 11 year olds to be posting to websites?

I mean, I hope this person is being supervised. Even the safest of sites probably have some restrictions about adults interacting with really young kids. You never know who, or what, could be lurking.

Even though this site is pretty much a PG rated affair (sometimes leaning to G, sometimes to PG13) I think it may be a bit old for kids younger than teens.

Hope that doesn't sound paranoid, but I try to aim my responses and questions for a somewhat mature audience.

Maybe a forum for 'Modelling with Your Children' would be more appropriate...? That way kids would have someone there to help with the questions, etc.

IF it is true that Cartridge is in fact 11 years old, then I for one apologise to him and all the others here. I automatically assumed that he was leading some of us up the garden path and taking advantage on those good people here willing to help.......

I reserve judgement at this point ......for the sake of peace.

Pehaps a kids forum is needed. I for one am happy to help anywhere I can..

Desert Fox

Now that everything is more or less cleared out. I was thinking the same as you for a while but he apologized in another topic. I already have forgiven him this

But this incident brought up a very good idea ( by others)
I think the idea for a special youngsters forum is very good. and just as I`m trying to help and sharing knowledge in the other forums I will do that here too.
We always expect in one stupid way that everyone who is posting in the forums is more or less equal to knowledge as we all are. here we are very wrong. I`m 21 now and I remeber the days when I started. man I was an annoying little bastard those days (heard that later)
But I was asking the more experienced guy in the modelling shop about the kits the paints the tools the..... well about everything. I didn`t had internet that days so I had to do it this way.
I think for the youngsters it`s fun too. I have seen several pictures of younger people and I have heard several people speak about there kids or friends I think they would appreciate it if they had a place where they could go to with all of their questions to be answered.
Another pro is that we never get more of those incidents as what we had with cartridge because if he is posting in a youngsters forum we know he is younger and therefor possibly more inexperienced.

I really like the idea of the youngster forum and I will be glad to answer any question from any one there

Where is this apology??
Like I say, I'm man enough to apologize if it's needed.........I didn't want people here taken to be fools. I have enjoyed this community for quite a while now and have gotten to know some of you reasonably well (internet speaking..). I was getting frustrated at the idiocy of it all. I took offence for others on this site.
