I'm building the Italeri 1/35 Crusader at the moment and I'm unsure about the tow cables - they are supplied in the kit as long, straight, solid plastic but it they have to fit over and around various lumps and bumps. I'm probly going to order a set of Karaya tow cables to use, but some idea of how the tow cables were typically arranged on the Crusader would be much appreciated.

Thx

Hi Neil

I'm Crusadering at the moment, so I've been looking at the shots on the IWM photodatabase, which include this classic shot of a Mark III

Italeri sort of have the postion right, but have it one the wrong side of the hull - for some weird reason they swap the crowbars (which should be on the equivalent place on the LHS) and the tow cable which is more often on the RHS. This means the strange little J-shaped bits into which the instructions would have you fit the cable can be scrapped - it seems that they are representations of empty tool clamps.
